Graduate Student Council
The department has a graduate student council, which organizes social events and serves as a way for students to organize.
First-Year Seminars
The department runs a seminar series for first-year graduate students featuring a series of talks by faculty about the graduate program and graduate school in general.

Mentorship Program
The department offers first year graduate students the opportunity to be mentored by a senior graduate student in the department. The program is optional, but is a great way for incoming students to get guidance and advice from students who are more senior in the program.
Fellowship Opportunities
Students often get outside fellowships to fund their research. The department maintains a list of these fellowships and deadlines.
