Subhash Khot Class of 2003 Wins NSF's Waterman Award

Subhash Khot, who received his PhD in Computer Science from Princeton in 2003, was recently named the winner of NSF's Waterman Award , given to the best researcher under 35 in all fields covered by NSF. Dr. Khot is now an Associate Professor at NYU. The NSF announcement reads, "Subhash is a brilliant theoretical computer scientist and is most well known for his Unique Games Conjecture. He has made many unexpected and original contributions to computational complexity and his work draws connections between optimization, computer science, mathematics." The award comes with a research grant of $500,000.
