Congratulations to
Brent Waters who has received the Grace Murray Hopper Award for the introduction and development of the concepts of attribute-based and functional encryption. The
ACM Grace Murray Hopper Award recognizes an outstanding young computer professional and is selected on the basis of a single recent major technical or service contribution. Waters received his Ph.D. from Princeton Computer Science in 2004, and is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Austin.
