June 9, 2015
Congratulations to Eric Schneider'17 (undergraduate, Math), Jon Schneider (graduate student, CS) and Siddhartha Jayanti'17 (undergraduate, CS) for competing in the World Finals of the 2015 ACM International Collegiate Programming Competition, held in Morocco. Coached by Adam Schneider, the team competed against 127 other teams from around the world and won $1050 for being the first to solve problem D on "cutting cheese." More specifically, given a block of cheese with spherical holes, they were asked to determine where one should cut to split the cheese into equal portions. The full list of problems they tackled are here.
