This week we heard from two guest lecturers: Raymie Stata, former Chief Architect and then CTO of Yahoo, and Jeevan Kalanithi, CEO of Sifteo. Yahoo is a large Internet services company, and Sifteo makes and sells hardware with software applications running on it.
You are the founding CTO of a new startup. First, pick an area for your startup and write it down.
Then, imagine that you are writing a memo to your co-founder and CEO. In it, assume you have already written that you attended these two talks by these two people. In your submission, for each talk simply say what are the three most important things that you learned from that talk and that you hadn't known or thought much about before, and that you think you and your CEO should think about, discuss and perhaps institute at some point. To the extent possible or appropriate, say why.
As always, please focus on things you consider non-obvious, and keep in mind that insightful observations and clarity of communication are the main dimensions along which you are graded.
