Results of the Cook-Durand Coffee Drink-Off (CDCDO)

Results have been tabulated!

An Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was performed to assess whether there were differences in ratings between the two machines. Factors that were considered were the type of drink and the caffeine content.

Summary of Results

Although no differences were found to be significant, there were still some interesting patterns of results.

Mean Scores

Decaffeinated coffee drinkers rated both espresso drinks the same, and caffeine drinkers favored Perry's espresso. Both decaf and caffeine drinkers favored Dannie's cappuccino (post-hoc analysis indicated this may have been partially due to the superior foam in Dannie's cappuccino drinks).

Overall, decaf drinkers preferred Dannie's machine, and caffeine drinkers were split between the two machines.
