To get ready for the Thanksgiving holiday, I met with Bob Phinney from the Geology department and then went down to 185 Nassau Street and met with

Ed White, Carol Rigolot, Toni Turano, Paul Muldoon and Kathy DiMeglio
about the Creative Writing program. In the second picture they even remembered to all look at the camera.

Thanksgiving day, we loaded up the car and checked the time while waiting for Jane to emerge for a stop at the Wawa where this sad sign greeted us. We drove on and were willing to pay this price to fill the tank so that we could drive on and execute bad parking at this rest stop where the facilities made us happier when we saw Erika and after some assembly took this family photo for our records. WE drove on and got to Pittsburgh as these cars were being pulled over. In the Gespass house there was lots of food as Danny got ready to go off and the cookies symbolized what we'd be eating and so encouraged that we take a hike along this trail. Little did we realize that there would be many challenges along the way like the parallel bars and stretchers before we could complete the course and head for the swings near which was this inspirational bench where we took a brief rest.

Back at the Gespass residence, food was being assembled as Norma and Milt Suzanne Robert Ben Sally (up close) Sally and Jane, and Andy and Milt got ready to attack the serving table and bring food to the dining table as Robert did with this plate to the amusement of Suzanne Danny Jane and Milt and himself which led the others to watch television.

The next morning, Suzanne was barely awake but she was watching the Today Show before our trip to Starbucks where we were told photography was not welcomed. I did catch this sign in the men's room which was educational and then made an image of the key they gave me to get in. Fern Schwartz showed up and I recoreded her in that sacred location. Later we went back to the Gespass house where people gathered around the lox to listen to the birds which caused Suzanne to take another bite of the chocolate cake which amused Any and Debbie though the people upstairs were completely engaged in video games. Jane and Sarah talked about the turkey as we organized and had Sarah plan our logistics as the lox stayed on the table.

The girls and I drove on and parked well in order to get a P F Chang's picture for that collection before heading to the movie theater where the line led us to the girl who sold the tickets to Sarah so that we could explore the mall. At American Eagle Outfitters the girls were met by this person who said we could do photography there. Next stop was the Gap and in we went before going to Bath & Body Works and viewing Victoria's Secret from a distance with fire engines in the way. In Kaufmann's, the help posed and Jane was thrilled when Kara rang up our sales at Dick's. In L'Express, this entire effort

did not yield the right shoes so we decided to take a break at Panera where these treats each had a ridiculous number of calories. So, I had a sour dough roll for only 105 calories as Jane and Sarah consumed their calories.

Dinner was back at the Gespass house with Norma trying to call Abercrombie and Fitch as Sarah Ben Andy and Jane watching as I tried to take a self portrait which amused Sarah and freed the knitting bags before the food appeared. Next there were attempts to take my picture and Ben's and a picture with Jane in the Blair Witch mode. The food came and went as Suzanne considered a seat and Norma and Jane and Milt and Suzanne got ready for dessert.

The next day, Suzanne awoke and read the paper with Sarah as Ben emerged and Andy made coffee while Jane slept and Red Teddy made a rare appearance. Andy looked about as the birds sang and once Jane finished packing we braved the car and said farewell to Debbie and thanked her for being a wonderful hostess even as Red Teddy put on his show for the mothers and after much applause Ben's sisters convinced him that it was time to bring Red Teddy to pere and mere Gespass where they were watching the CSpan Book Tour as Milt welcomed us and we had another breakfast complete with very photogenic apples and a napkin that did not do well with flash or without so it seemed like we needed to make one more Pittsburgh excursion.

We drove to Whole Foods where Suzanne was enthusiastic about the produce as we bought yams and then soup and breads before checking out the prepared foods which she rang up for us. The potatoes and soup needed some fruit and a sandwich after which this person showed off the truffles before we looked at dairy and smoked meats which made me need to learn more rules and then come back for the lox and some produce before it was suggested that maybe I shouldn't take pictures in their store. So, we loaded the groceries and headed for the oldest rest stop on the turnpike where she confirmed my belief that it's fine to take pictures in a Starbucks. After a long ride, we saw this welcoming sign that told us we were indeed there yet.
